Lamplighter – February 2020

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, Dear members and friends of St. Paul’s,

This month of February, our congregation looks forward to the following events and opportunities for Bible study, worship, and fellowship:

Rev. Dr. Anthony Steinbronn will visit our congregation on Sunday morning, February 2. We look forward to bagels and a visit with Pastor Steinbronn after the 10 AM service.

Donna Munsch will lead the last chapters of our “Traveling Light” Bible study, Thursdays at 10 AM in Room 14. Thank you to Donna for leading this study, which is based on the book, “Traveling Light” by Max Lucado.

Pastor Ed Lazarchak will lead the next “Men of God” Bible study on Saturday, February 8 at 9:30 AM in Room 14. Join us! Coffee and treats will be provided.

Alexandra Sofia Taseski will be baptized at St. Paul’s on Sunday, February 23. We ask God to bless and keep Alexandra, her parents, Kaitlyn and Nikola Taseski, and big brothers Connor and Shane Fullam.

Our Evangelism Committee, our Elders and our Christian Fellowship Committee invite you to a Shrove Sunday Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, February 23 at 11:15 AM. Proceeds from the free will offering received at this breakfast will support St. Paul’s mission of the month, Mile Square Church in Hoboken. We thank Thrivent for supporting this breakfast with an Action Team grant.

Last, but certainly not least, our church will begin the thoughtful and prayerful season of Lent with a service of Holy Communion on Wednesday, February 26 at 7:30 PM. Soup and Sandwich will be served ahead of the worship service at 6:30 PM in Koepchen Fellowship Hall.  Details about our midweek Lenten services will be featured in upcoming Sunday bulletins.

We also ask God to bless the Pastors who will attend the New Jersey District Pastors Retreat, February 10 – 12 at the St. Joseph’s by the Sea Retreat Center in South Mantoloking, NJ. Your own Pastor Holsten works alongside Pastor Stephen Gewecke to lead this retreat. If you need a pastor’s care during this time, please contact Rev. Tom Pranschke at 551-427-6599.

God bless you, keep you and help you this wintry month of February!

In Christ,
Pastor Holsten
