Celebrate the Christmas Season With Saint Paul’s

Saint Paul’s will offer a number of events to help neighbors and families celebrate the Christmas season:

St. Paul’s will present a Candlelight Christmas Eve Service on Monday, December 24th at 7 and 11 PM. Traditional Christmas carols and the Christmas Gospel are part of this worship service. A highlight in this service is the individual handheld candle lighting, followed by the Gospel of the Incarnation, the prayers, and the singing of Silent Night.

St. Paul’s will present a Christmas Day Communion Service on Tuesday, December 25th at 10 AM. From Heaven Above to Earth I Come and the First Noel are two of the hymns featured on Christmas Day. “Christmas Day is a quiet, contemplative service focused on the real reason for Christmas,” says Rev. Robert Holsten, pastor of St. Paul’s. “God sent His only beloved Son, Jesus, into our world to save us from sin, death, hell, and the power of the devil.”

On Sunday, January 6, at 10 AM, St. Paul’s will present a special Christmas service entitled, “The Christmas Story in Word and Song.” The Advent and Christmas story will be read, accompanied by contemporary and traditional Christmas songs sung by the Holsten family.

“We cherish the opportunity to share the Christmas story with our community,” comments Pastor Holsten. “At Christmas, we celebrate the Incarnation. Jesus, God’s Son took on our flesh and bone. He was born of the Virgin Mary, who laid Him in a manger, that is, a feed box for animals, because there was no room in the inn. Jesus lived a perfect life, suffered, died and rose again for each one of us. Through faith in Jesus’ cross and resurrection, God rescues us from our sins, and gives us the free gift of eternal life. The angel speaking to the shepherds in the fields outside Bethlehem said it best, ‘For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ, the Lord.’” (Luke 2:11)

The public is invited to all these events. For more information, contact St. Paul’s at 201 768-6310.
