St. Paul’s Invites Community to November Services

The members of the community are invited to join the members of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Closter for a number of special days of worship in the month of November. St. Paul’s is located at 171 Closter Dock Road in Closter, New Jersey.

Sunday, November 11, 8:30 and 10 AM–Stewardship Sunday #1, “Finding Rest in Jesus Sunday.” Each person present will receive a 2019 St. Paul’s Calendar, provided by the Moritz Funeral Home in Closter. St. Paul’s will also take a moment to recognize veterans from St. Paul’s and our community. A continental breakfast will be served after the 10 AM service.

Sunday, November 18–Stewardship Sunday #2, “Living Waters Sunday.” All people in attendance will receive a small bottle of Poland Spring water. 2019 church offering envelopes will also be distributed.

Wednesday, November 21 at 7:30 PM–Thanksgiving Eve Worship. St. Paul’s will host a candlelight service, giving thanks to God for all His blessings. All people in attendance will receive a copy of the poem, “Thank You God (from A to Z)” written by Pastor Robert Holsten

Sunday, November 25–Stewardship Sunday #3, “Light of Jesus Sunday.” All people in attendance will receive a tea candle. Advent devotional booklets will also be distributed.

The theme for St. Paul’s Stewardship Sundays is based on the hymn, “I Heard the Voice of Jesus Say.” This hymn was written by the 19th century Scottish preacher Horatius Bonar. The tune for the hymn was written by a 20th century Lutheran school teacher, Amanda Husberg.
